The licensing requirements vary, depending on the services you wish to offer your clients. When it comes to securities licensing there are many different exams and options including: Series 6, Series 7, Series 63, Series 65, and Series 66. Our recommendation is that you obtain your Series 6 securities license and your state’s Life and Health Insurance license.
The Series 66, The Uniform Combined State Law Examination, is designed to qualify candidates as both securities agents and investment advisor representatives.
In order to take any of the exams listed above you must be sponsored by a broker-dealer. TFS Securities, Inc. is the sponsoring broker-dealer for the representatives of FFP.
If you would like to learn more about securities licensing, we recommend you call us to schedule a meeting. We are experienced in the licensing process and will walk you through it.
After successfully acquiring your securities license, we would also recommend obtaining a life insurance license.
In New Jersey, you are required to attend a preparation course prior to taking the Life & Health Insurance exam. Also, if you wish to sell variable annuities you are required to obtain a separate license.
